Lieberge presented a unique order to Stan Agency. The company makes art supplies, and its new water brush pens were coming out soon. Lieberge wanted a creative label design to help sell the product on shelves. Stan Agency accepted the challenge and placed our top-rated design team on the project.
Challenge Components
- Niche market
- Creative label for creative consumers
- Consumer wariness
Research as a Custom Creative Label Firm
The first step we took was examining Lieberge’s competitors. We looked at the company’s packaging and labels to ascertain market trends. From there, we also discussed the other products in Lieberge’s brand. That way, we could incorporate common elements and cohesion.
Bonus Challenge
The added challenge for this project was figuring out the creative aspects. Creative people were going to buy these pens. Therefore, our creative label design needed to impress them without being overwhelming. That was a hard balance to find.
Design Inspiration
Art was our primary inspiration. The pens are water brushes, which connected to watercolor. The team decided to incorporate elements of that along with samples of what the brushes can do. We also decided to work more of Lieberge’s branding into the design.
Narrowing Down the Final Options
The creative label design team delivered several amazing concepts. Each one was unique, but we were able to remove some of the ideas using the brand criteria. Then we moved into side-by-side comparisons so we could find the design that stood out on art store shelves.
