Research as a Custom Recycle Package Design Firm

Our first step was researching the home craftsmen industry. We then examined a few direct competitors’ recycle package designs. This provided market trend insight, which we used to avoid our package looking like everyone else’s while appealing to the primarily male audience.

Bonus Challenge

The additional challenge with this recycle package design project was conveying the usefulness. Many craftsmen already have measuring tools. We needed to share how different Garlavie’s product was.

Design Inspiration

Our primary recycle package design inspiration was the projects craftsmen work on. The ruggedness and precision inspired the design. We also examined what made a tool package great, and that tended to be simple, impactful choices.

Narrowing Down the Final Options

The professional design team created a few recycle package design concepts. We eliminated a couple based on branding similarity. Then we examined which ideas conveyed quality and purpose quickly.
