Our first step was examining the current market trends in wood shaving packaging design. Then we compiled advanced competitor research. This helped us spot wood packaging design trends, which helped us figure out the elements and designs we wanted to avoid.
Bonus Challenge
The added challenge with this wood packaging design involves the ranch and bulk store differences. These locations are different from a grocery store. When people shop at them, they tend to care less about the bright colors many other packaging designs use.
Design Inspiration
We drew inspiration from the forest management part of the Best of Show brand. Then we examined the animals the bedding was for. Horses were inspirational in many senses, and we wanted to ensure the wood packaging design was clear regarding what it was for.
